LITHA :: A Neolithic Celebration of Midsummer

LITHA :: A Neolithic Celebration of Midsummer

A lesser known Wheel of the Year celebration, Litha occurs during the Summer Solstice between June 19 -22 and is more commonly referred to as Midsummer’s Night. Litha is believed to be a time when faery folk pass into the human world at Twilight and offer blessings. So today, the fairies at Raven Botanicals are offering Solstice blessings for self care and skin confidence for the months ahead.

Litha is a time to celebrate the abundance and beauty of Mother Earth. Flowers are in glorious bloom and gardens are producing fresh fruit and vegetables.

Family and friends traditionally gather together to celebrate the longest day of the year and the impending harvest.

Most commonly we know this time as the SOLSTICE, a term that originated from the Latin words representing the sun (sol) and to stand (sistere).

OUR SOLSTICE FACIAL OIL

SOLSTICE is a gentle and rejuvenating blend of golden plant oils and extracts, formulated to protect, soften and revitalise the skin.

This lightweight oil naturally improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating natural production of collagen and elastin, as well as repairing imperfections and reducing redness.

Solstice usually falls on June 20th or 21st. It is the longest day of the year, and it marks the height of the sun’s power. Litha is a time to celebrate the abundance of nature and honour the sun. Solstice is open to all who feel a deep connection with nature, the changing seasons, and the cycles of the Earth. A celebration of the harvest that is before us with fresh fruits and vegetables in abundance and - particularly relevant for us, nature's apothecary!

Plants and flowers are inextricably linked to the summer solstice: in ancient celebrations, healing herbs were believed to be at their most powerful and potent when harvested on this day.
